On Coding Day, students will be introduced to the fundamental concepts of programming through Scratch, a drag-and-drop coding platform developed by MIT. They’ll start by learning how to use loops, variables, and conditionals to control characters and actions on screen. Then, they’ll build their own projects—whether it’s a short animation, interactive story, or playable video game. This day helps demystify coding by showing how logic and creativity come together in computer science. Students will leave with a sense of accomplishment and a solid understanding of what it means to write code as well as the science and logic systems behind code.
