Aerospace

On Aerospace Day, students will explore the forces that make flight possible: lift, drag, gravity, and thrust. They'll build and modify their own model gliders to see how wing shape and size affect flight distance and control. Later, they’ll construct parachutes and test how materials, surface area, and weight influence how slowly an object can fall. These projects will help students understand the basic principles behind aircraft, space exploration, and the science of falling objects. Through hands-on experimentation, they’ll begin to think like aerospace engineers, using trial and error to improve their designs and achieve better flight performance.
